Skoobit offers College Students an Opportunity to Win a Full Semester of Free Textbook Rentals
Calling all communications and graphic design students! Online textbook rental company, Skoobit, announces it’s first-ever contest for college students set to begin in January. Registered teams of up to ten students will create and implement a public relations or advertising campaign for their campus to spread the word about Skoobit’s money-saving services. Submitted materials will be judged by AJR & Partners, a MARCOM Platinum award-winning PR firm based in Miami, FL. Winners will earn recognition on the Skoobit website and a full semester of free textbook rentals in fall 2009.
Contest Rules:
1. Teams can consist of up to 10 students.
2. All campaign materials must be the original work of student participants.
3. Students must use the provided Skoobit logo on all materials.
4. Each team can be flexible and creative with messaging as long as they are along the lines of what the Skoobit website and previous press releases convey.
5. Materials must be submitted by April 2, 2009.
Judging Criteria:
1. Creativity of overall campaign
2. Professionalism of promotional materials (i.e. press releases, advertisements)
3. Efficacy of web 2.0 marketing (i.e. social media outlets)
4. Media coverage (i.e. media clippings, ad placements in school publications)
5. The number of Skoobit textbook rental registrants from the represented school
6. Extras to be determined (i.e. events, etc.)
Incentives:
1. All participants will be able to put the experience on their resumes.
2. The top three schools will receive recognition in a press release and on the Skoobit website.
3. The first place winners will receive a semester of free textbook rentals.
