MTV's Entire Music Video Library Now Available on Facebook
If you're obsessed with Facebook, then you should check out AllFacebook.com. Its a blog entirely dedicated to Facebook news. I have been finding myself perusing through the site more often these days. It's pretty addicting. You can find some interesting news and information there. For instance, they just reported that MTV has made their entire music video collection available through their new MTV Facebook application. You can find 16,000+ of their videos there.
Their playlist feature is pretty neat where you can select and add videos from MTV's picks, their most popular videos, or any video that you search for. You can even watch the videos fullstream, although I suspect that most people will just make a playlist and listen to the music while they waste time on the social network. The application would be able to leverage the social features of Facebook better if you could post videos to your friend's walls. So far there only about 7,000 users, but I'm sure it will expand fairly quickly. Its actually the first application that I've used in a long time. The integration of music services has started to become a larger part of Facebook's strategy to take over the world. It makes it more competitive to MySpace giving you less reason to visit when you can access the same music (some of it, at least) on Facebook. It would be really cool if Facebook came out with a music directory like they have for their applications for small time and popular bands. For now, we'll settle with MTV's music collection on Facebook.
Did you know Facebook spends roughly a $1 million dollars on electricity per month? We're recently wrote an article on the financial breakdown of Facebook's burnrate.
