Ideablob: What Would You Do With $10,000
If you have a great idea and are looking for some seed capital, you should head over to ideablob. A contest is held each month for entrepreneurs and businesses to present an idea and compete to win $10,000. Winners are determined by how many votes your idea receives from the online community of innovators. Last year's winner was an organic sweat-shop-free t-shirt company, No Sweat Apparel. At the same time the founder, John Studer, also aims to mitigate the Middle-East conflict by manufacturing in a Palestinian factory at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian crisis.
Anyone can enter the competition. The only judges are the community voters, which may be good or bad for the more practical and less trendy ideas. The next competition starts on May 1st, you can submit your idea here.
