5 Resources To Find Startup Job Openings
If you haven't built relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and people in the tech community, it can be hard to find startups that have job openings. Especially, ones that are actively hiring. I've done a ton of networking, but ironically, I found my job at Acquia through VentureLoop, a job board for venture-backed startups.
At first, it seemed unlikely that I'd be considered or even receive an email response (I was applying a couple months after graduating). But I had to try and it worked. (I'll have to do another post on advice for that process.) But, in the meantime, here are 5 sites where you can begin your hunt. You never know, just apply!
Startup Job Boards
1. VentureLoop: Right now, the job board has over 4,200 jobs from nearly 700 venture-backed startups all actively recruiting. These are companies founded by Sequioa Capital, Kleiner Perkins, the Founders Fund, and many other prestigious venture capitalist.
2. Startuply: Although not as large as VentureLoop, Startuply currently has over 1100 jobs from over 1000 startups. The site is a bit less selective, so not all of them are venture-backed startups. But nonetheless, a company doesn't have to be financed for it to provide a great opportunity.
3. PartnerUp: An online community for small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs. People use it to find new partners for their business ventures, post job opportunities, and network to find the perfect early stage opportunity to jump on board with.
4. HotStartupJobs.com: Ironically the site doesn't attract too much traffic, but it claims to aggregate over 300,000 startup jobs.
5. StartupZone: Venture-backed startup jobs in Silicon Valley.
We made another list of startup job boards with more niche obscure sites. But, the above ones are some of the better sites.
