
College students generally enjoy traveling and studying abroad. In itself, going to college/university is traveling to a new location and living amongst a different people. For this reason, students understand the value of going to a new country or city and using their experiences to help them find opportunities they would not usually find. Also, traveling may help students realize that their own home may be a great place to live. That is why, not surprisingly, three students took this idea and ran with it: Started by Mark Lurie, Adam Miller, and Mike Stone in Boston (Harvard, MIT, Tufts respectively), decided to create Abroad101, a website that provides information via student reviews to those interested in studying abroad:
“Abroad101 aims to become the virtual keystone of the study abroad experience by allowing students to share reviews on and advice about studying abroad and study abroad programs. Services will be provided to students, their parents, and their universities to facilitate a safe and meaningful experience abroad.”
By relying on students that have went abroad and on universities that have a vested interest in student happiness while going abroad, Abroad101 is choosing the right people to trust.
