There are many men and women who head off to college right after high school. It is a time to realize you are on your own, have new friends, face new challenges. One of these challenges is meeting and dating someone, falling in love perhaps, and possibly spending the rest of your life with that person. College dating can be a difficult situation. Both men and women are new to ‘real’ life dating, and don’t have the advice of their parents anymore. What advice they do have may come from their college buddies or new girlfriends, but how reliable is this advice? Are the people who give you advice having problems as well? If so, do you really want to fall into the same trends they are?

Guys always want to know what makes a man more attractive to the opposite sex, or what will make women notice you? Are you supposed to act a certain way, dress a certain way? Because you are just starting out on your own, deciding what to do and how to go about it, it can be confusing as well as frustrating. While there is enough information out there to fill volumes on what you should do when dating women, there just isn’t enough room to fit it all in here. However, there are some main points that are going to help you deal with the dating scene, whether you are a guy, or a girl who is looking to date someone while they are in college, or maybe finding that right person to spend the rest of your life with.

The first place to start with is appearance. This includes personal hygiene, what you wear and how you present yourself. What makes a man more attractive to the opposite sex? Cleanliness. Make sure you take a shower on a regular basis. If you decide to have facial hair, keep it neat and trim. If you are one of those people who have excessive sweat, use deodorant regularly. There is nothing worse than a woman smelling your BO. What will make women notice you? Dress nicely. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wear a suit all the time, but unless you are lounging around your dorm room, don’t go out with a pair of sweats on and a crappy T-shirt. You don’t have to wear a tux on a date, but going dress casual is a good idea. It also depends on where you are going too, so dress appropriate to the situation.

The next part of dating is how you should act. Don’t be an ass, for one, which means don’t get too drunk, don’t put on an act, and just be nice. What makes a man attractive to the opposite sex? Someone who doesn’t always have to be the center of attention. Be comfortable with who you are, don’t complain about everything, and make sure you take the time to really listen to her, even if you aren’t into everything she says. What will make women notice you? A woman will really notice if you are listening to them, because you are showing that you value their thoughts and opinions. If you are always talking over them, interrupting what they are saying, or zoning out, a woman is going to think that you don’t care about them, which is a big turn off.

One big thing about dating is that a nice guy doesn’t always finish last. If a woman says no, she means it. If you are not comfortable with a situation, let them know in a polite manner. Stand up for yourself, but not rudely. Do things that she wants to do as much as what you want to do. Treat her like your equal, and make sure you are looking into her eyes, not at some other part of her body.
